SCOPE Act

The SCOPE Act, formally known as the Securing Children Online Through Parental Empowerment Act, aims to protect minors from harmful content and provide parents with tools to manage their child’s online activities. It primarily focuses on digital service providers (DSPs), like social media platforms, requiring them to implement measures to prevent minors from accessing harmful content and allowing parents to participate in their children’s online accounts.

Impact on DSPs:

The SCOPE Act requires DSPs to implement compliance measures, including developing content filtering strategies, verifying ages, and providing parental tools.

Impact on Minors:

The law aims to protect minors from harmful content and provide them with more control over their online privacy.

Impact on Parents:

The SCOPE Act empowers parents with tools to supervise their children’s online activities and ensure their safety.

At Lazbuddie ISD we’re committed to providing a learning experience that allows your child to grow and flourish with technology.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with a student safety and digital wellbeing platform that is now protecting the device your child uses at school, ensuring they stay safe and secure.

We’re happy to invite you to join us in this world of digital wellbeing by giving you access to the Qustodio Parents App. This will provide you with full visibility on how your child is using their school devices.

If you would like to have access to Qustodio App please contact the school so that we can get you added to the system. Once added you will be able to monitor and filter 1 extra device for each child that is in the school at no cost to you.
